No Regret

No Regret
Forgive Yourself. Live Yourself. Live Fully.
There comes a time when you have looked back enough.
You have remembered.
You have questioned.
You have analyzed.
You have replayed conversations.
You have wondered what you could have done differently.
You have thought about the people you loved.
The choices you made.
The things you didn't say.
The things you said too quickly.
The opportunities you missed.
The years you thought you wasted.
The versions of yourself you wish you could go back and protect.
And eventually, you arrive at a different question.
Not:
“What if I had done things differently?”
But:
“What if everything I lived through brought me exactly here?”
No Regret
I'm beginning to understand that regret can become another way of refusing to accept our own story.
We look backward and judge the woman we were using the wisdom we only have today.
But that's not fair.
She didn't know what I know now.
She didn't have today's experiences.
Today's boundaries.
Today's wisdom.
Today's perspective.
She made decisions with the information, emotions, circumstances and understanding available to her at that time.
How can I punish her for not knowing what she hadn't learned yet?
I can't.
And I don't want to anymore.
Forgive Yourself
I want to forgive myself.
For the times I stayed too long.
For the times I left too quickly.
For trusting people.
For not trusting people.
For being too emotional.
For not expressing myself enough.
For expressing myself too strongly.
For being afraid.
For being brave.
For the mistakes.
For the missed opportunities.
For the years I thought I should have accomplished more.
For the moments I didn't recognize my own worth.
For the times I abandoned myself trying to keep everyone else comfortable.
For every version of myself who was simply trying to figure things out.
I forgive her.
Not because everything she did was perfect.
But because she was human.
And she was learning.
I Don't Want to Live in the Courtroom of My Own Mind
Sometimes we become our own judge, jury and prosecutor.
We keep bringing the past back into court.
Evidence after evidence.
You should have known.
You should have left.
You should have stayed.
You should have said this.
You shouldn't have done that.
You wasted time.
You made the wrong choice.
Enough.
The trial is over.
The woman who made those choices is not standing here anymore.
She has evolved.
She has learned.
She has grown.
She has become wiser.
She doesn't need another punishment.
She needs compassion.
The Past Can Be Honored Without Being Repeated
Forgiving myself doesn't mean pretending everything was wonderful.
It doesn't mean forgetting the painful parts.
It doesn't mean excusing people who hurt me.
It doesn't mean returning to situations that no longer belong in my life.
Forgiveness is not permission.
Forgiveness is release.
I can say:
That happened.
It hurt.
It changed me.
I learned from it.
And I don't have to carry it forever.
I can take the wisdom without carrying the weight.
I Don't Want to Waste Today Regretting Yesterday
There is something ironic about regret.
We can spend today's precious life mourning yesterday.
And then tomorrow becomes another yesterday.
And suddenly we're looking backward again.
I don't want that anymore.
I don't want to spend the rest of my life calculating how many years I could have lived differently.
I want to live the years I actually have.
I want to laugh.
I want to create.
I want to make music.
I want to write.
I want to travel when I want to travel.
I want to stay home when I want to stay home.
I want beautiful things.
I want simple things.
I want deep conversations.
I want ridiculous conversations.
I want quiet mornings.
I want spontaneous afternoons.
I want to dance.
I want to rest.
I want to build.
I want to play.
I want to love.
I want to be loved.
I want to experience my life instead of constantly evaluating it.
Live You
Maybe that's the real lesson.
Live you.
Not the person your family remembers.
Not the person your partner expects.
Not the woman society thinks you should be at this age.
Not the younger version of yourself you think you need to recover.
Not the perfect mother.
Not the perfect businesswoman.
Not the perfect woman.
Just:
You.
The evolving you.
The complicated you.
The joyful you.
The tired you.
The feminine you.
The creative you.
The protective you.
The playful you.
The quiet you.
The loud you.
The serious you.
The ridiculous you.
The woman who wants to be alone sometimes.
The woman who wants connection sometimes.
The woman who still wants magic.
All of her.
There Is No Need to Choose One Version
I spent so much time thinking I had to figure out which version of myself was the real one.
But perhaps they were all real.
The girl from Bacolod.
The young woman who dreamed.
The woman who came to Canada.
The wife.
The mother.
The professional.
The entrepreneur.
The artist.
The musician.
The woman who became private.
The woman who became protective.
The woman who became tired.
The woman who became strong.
The woman who rediscovered minimalism.
The woman who discovered slow living.
The woman who wants glamour again.
The woman who wants laughter again.
The woman who wants freedom.
They aren't competing identities.
They're chapters.
And every chapter belongs to me.
I Don't Want a Perfect Life
I don't need a perfect life anymore.
I want an honest one.
A life where I can say:
This is what I want.
This is what I don't want.
This makes me happy.
This doesn't.
This is where I am growing.
This is where I am still learning.
This is where I need rest.
This is where I want adventure.
This is where I need boundaries.
This is where I want connection.
And I don't need to apologize for knowing the difference.
I Am Allowed to Begin Again
At any age.
In any season.
After any mistake.
After any heartbreak.
After any disappointment.
After years of living one way.
After realizing something you wish you'd realized earlier.
You can begin again.
You don't need permission.
You don't need to erase the past.
You don't need to become young again.
You simply need to decide:
What do I want to do with what remains?
And suddenly, the question becomes beautiful.
Because there is still life.
Still music.
Still laughter.
Still creativity.
Still love.
Still possibility.
Still mornings.
Still sunsets.
Still conversations.
Still adventures.
Still things you haven't experienced.
Still people you haven't met.
Still songs you haven't written.
Still stories you haven't told.
So I Am Choosing No Regret
I don't know how many chapters I have left.
None of us do.
And perhaps that's precisely why I don't want to spend them regretting the chapters already written.
I want to read them with tenderness.
I want to thank them.
I want to learn from them.
And then I want to turn the page.
No bitterness.
No shame.
No endless self-punishment.
No romanticizing the past.
No running from the future.
Just here.
Now.
Alive.
Forgive Yourself
Forgive yourself for being human.
Forgive yourself for not knowing.
Forgive yourself for learning slowly.
Forgive yourself for changing.
Forgive yourself for outgrowing people.
Forgive yourself for needing space.
Forgive yourself for wanting more.
Forgive yourself for wanting less.
Forgive yourself for the choices that didn't work.
Forgive yourself for the moments you lost yourself.
And most importantly:
Forgive yourself for believing you had to remain the same person forever.
You were always allowed to evolve.
And Now, Live
This is the chapter where I stop asking permission from the past.
I don't need to prove that I deserved happiness.
I don't need to prove that I made all the right choices.
I don't need to prove that my life looks successful from the outside.
I don't need to recreate my happiest memory.
I don't need to become the woman I once was.
I don't even need to know exactly who I'm becoming.
I only need to live.
Fully.
Honestly.
Joyfully.
Intentionally.
With boundaries.
With softness.
With laughter.
With curiosity.
With music.
With beauty.
With mistakes.
With grace.
With all of it.
No regret.
Forgive yourself.
Live you.
For everything you've been.
For everything you've survived.
For everything you've learned.
For everything you're becoming.
For everything you still have the courage to dream about.
Don't wait until life is perfect.
Don't wait until everyone understands you.
Don't wait until every relationship is resolved.
Don't wait until you have figured yourself out completely.
You are alive now.
And that is enough reason to begin.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Until one day, when you look back, you won't see a life you wish you had lived differently.
You'll see a life you finally learned to embrace.
Every chapter.
Every mistake.
Every miracle.
Every heartbreak.
Every laugh.
Every tear.
Every beginning.
Every ending.
Every version of you.
And you'll say:
I lived.
I loved.
I learned.
I became.
And I regret nothing.
